Nongovernmental Agencies Involved in Global Issues
A nongovernmental organization (NGO) is a voluntary organization that is neither assisted by any government, and the main concern of which is typically the social, environmental, or humanitarian issue. The evaluation reveals that there is a need to scrutinize the structure and performance of such institutions in addressing health needs in the world. Humanitarian services and development services offered by CARE International are necessary in all parts of the world (CARE, n.d.-b).
CARE is a company that provides health services, education, and emergency relief to the vulnerable and least-resourced areas of the world. In addition to deliberating on the mission, operations, and accountability of CARE, the evaluation is based on an interview with one of the board members, who also provided information on their financial and operational transparency.

About the Nongovernmental Funding Organization
Care International was started by Arthur Ringland in 1945 as a relief organization in Europe following World War II. CARE is based in Geneva, Switzerland, and operates in approximately 100 countries such as Bangladesh, Sudan, Haiti and Afghanistan (CARE, n.d.-a). Disaster relief, food security, women’s empowerment, and global health interventions are areas on which the organization is interested.
Mission and Goals
CARE International will be concerned with the living standards of people by alleviating poverty and advocating dignity for all people. The mission statement of the organization is rather agreeable with the existing problems in the world, including the disparity in healthcare, gender-based violence, and disaster response. They only program on an emergency responsive basis, maternal healthcare provision and economic empowerment. They are specific and measurable goals such as a cut in infant and maternal deaths, more female education, and access of clean water (CARE, n.d.-a). I joined CARE 12 years ago in South Sudan as a field health officer. I am now in charge of regional health programs in East Africa. My greatest professional experience at work is improving maternal and child health among the vulnerable communities.
Question: What are the biggest challenges in your role, and how do you overcome them?
And one of the most difficult things is to work in unstable places where the infrastructure is not much. In order to be capable of such hardships, I focus on the creation of the proper community partnership. It should have confidence and communication effectiveness with local teams. I started my career as a community nurse in Uganda. The experiences that I had at a tender age made me understand the necessity of grassroots work. Reflection
The interview and research of the public health organizations were eye-opening. The initiative and creativity to make ends meet with the international health programs are marvelous. Nevertheless, the level of collaboration between the government programs and the NGOs was higher than anticipated. The empowerment of women was addressed to a great extent, which was positive. That is why I have gained awareness of the strength of community involvement, and I am even more determined to contribute to the global health cause. The experience was an eye-opener on the level of commitment of NGOs to dealing with global health matters.
Conclusion
One of the stakeholders involved in population health promotion in the world is the NGO CARE International. The successful programs require strategic partners and communities. This is enhanced by the fact that money is open and the NGO is flexible. The cross-board working skill enhances working. This is what is happening with the actions of the group in enhancing health resilience and gender equity.
