The objective is to increase compliance by 20% in 12-weeks, from 35.3% to 50.7%, and consequently decrease no-shows, emergency visits, and psychiatric relapses. The implementation involves staff training, scheduled reminders (72, 48, and 24 hours before), and constant monitoring using EHR data. Teaching was also about how to utilize EHRs in compliance and documentation. Faculty stated that the minor changes in the IRB won’t take a major hit in time for the projects.

Reflect on Project Progress

Work on the project was good in terms of planning, objectives, and implementation. Feedback showed that the project was feasible and met the clinical need. Faculty and preceptor interaction helps the student attain program milestones and the timely manner. The discussion also showcased how technology must be intertwined with human interaction. The developments are prepared to go once they are approved by the IRB.

Area of Uncertainty

There’s still uncertainty about a few strands of documentation that need to be tweaked, and IRB approval, of course. Further clarification is required on when things are due and when they are approved. The scalability and generalizability of the data are also questions. These uncertainties need to be addressed prior to the final submission and project execution phase.
