Dear Professor (name)
Digital literacy defines the ability to interact, evaluate, and create in the digital environment with the help of various digital tools (Tinmaz et al., 2022). In general, the technology competency entails computer literacy, which implies the power to utilize physical or virtual technology efficiently to learn, secure usage of the World Wide Web, critical analysis of online learning materials, and knowledge of how technology can be applied in the learning process as part of learning teams. This is the knowledge of how to type, use a social media platform, and create an account safely, and knowledge of viruses and phishing scams.
In the case of the current workplace, all workers are supposed to exhibit successful digital skills. The intricacy of business operations is fueling the necessity for individuals to implement various technologies in conducting operations. For example, familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools or data analysis software can introduce a high level of increased productivity and impact the decision-making process (Vaidyanathan et al., 2020). With the increasing technology integration, change becomes more manageable, and with digitally literate individuals having higher chances of acquiring the changes and learning how to accommodate them effortlessly, they have more opportunities to compete in their respective fields of work.
The term plagiarism refers to the unreasonable recourse of a source by a person to a piece of work, ideas, or expressions that belong to a third party. Generally, plagiarism has been associated with dishonest work, and since there has been a transition in technology, where content has been transferred to digital, one can plagiarize information effortlessly (Clarke et al., 2022). Plagiarism has several risks, such as academic consequences, legal consequences, discrediting, and sabotaging personal learning and ethical practices. Plagiarism may have dire consequences on the future career achievements of an individual: it can ruin the reputation, get one fired, and restrict the chance of a promotion (Sayeda, 2024). Any breach of ethics can also make networking and professional relations difficult, and it is hard to establish a successful career.
The legal liability associated with plagiarism is relevant in the professional context, where the situation may cause severe damage to the reputation of a person (Perkins et al., 2020). The professionals expect imagination and fairness in the material production and submission of the ideas. More than once, a candidate has been seen to commit the offense of plagiarizing; he or she is unlikely to be promoted since leadership entails earning the trust of the employees. The plagiarism detectors are used by several businesses to prevent the vice, which is necessary in the long run to learn about and avoid to stay in business.
