Practicum Hours, Implementation, and Proficient Literature Synthesis: Signature Assessment

The Doctoral quality improvement project to enhance follow-up adherence by using a standardized telepsychiatry follow-up protocol with a reminder system involves the nursing staff working with adult patients who have been offered outpatient telepsychiatric services in an outpatient psychiatric clinic and is currently on track for the intended 12-week implementation program. All the data gathering, auditing of the chart, the baseline follow-up audits of the EHR, adoption of the standardized nurse-led protocol of telephone psychiatry follow-up, and the nurse-provided reminder call interventions are performed and completed in the clinical site, and all interventions are aligned with the goals and objectives of the project regarding the doctoral program.

The project will start in June 2026, and all implementation activities will be done by implementations will be over by September 2026. The project is scheduled to finish all implementation activities within the planned time before starting to analyze the outcome data, evaluate the adherence rate of the patients after the interventions, gauge the effectiveness of the interventions, assess the sustainability of the change in practices, and complete the doctoral program requirements to graduate.

The work needed to complete the checkpoint involves a minimum of 400 total hours of practicum and a proficient rating on all the literature synthesis grading criteria. Repeated success of the project goals by putting in place an evidence-based follow-up reminder protocol consistent with the recommendations of the Community Preventive Services Task Force on reminder systems. The project has already fulfilled the needed practicum hours, and implementation was going to be made without any major disruption or operational difficulties.
